Construction crews have worked hard through the New Year to bring projects closer to completion.
Elk Rapids High School:
The Elk Rapids High School Gym Addition has made great progress since the New Year. Gym flooring has been laid and staining has started to prep for bleachers. Painters have been working hard, often through the weekends, to bring finishing touches to new construction. Glass is being installed around the main entrance to help close in final building envelope. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades have been pushing on finishes and setting fixtures. Inside and out, it is exciting seeing this project push into the final steps. Pictures below show progress at the new gym addition.
The new office/main entrance is entering its final stages. Flooring has been laid and ceilings are ready to be finished as inspections come to a close. Millwork has been installed and furniture is set where available. Glass has been installed at the main lobby and doors/hardware are coming to completion. We are excited for students to be able to use this area soon. Scan through photos below to see this area approach completion.
Elk Rapids Middle School:
The new science wing at Cherryland Middle School is continuing to take shape. Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical contractors are finishing up above ceiling rough in as masons finish closing in some miscellaneous walls and columns. This area will soon brighten up with some paint on the walls. Locker bases have been prepped to pour concrete as lockers are completed and ready for install off site.
Steel workers will be hard at work setting main corridor steel after some modifications have been made to accommodate field conditions. We are excited to watch progress make strides at the middle school. See below for some photos as classrooms take shape.
