April Construction Progress

Early Spring weather has helped crews get a jump on exterior work at both buildings.

Elk Rapids High School:

Exterior work is moving quickly as the lot is cleared and prepared for asphalt paving. Concrete contractors are working their way from behind the building, finishing concrete as they go. Landscapers are getting ready to finish out these areas after sidewalk and parking lot is complete. It is exciting to see this area take shape.

Inside the building the weight room is taking its final shape. Take a look below to see the finished flooring and some equipment set.

The remainder of the gym addition is nearing completion as overhead work is finishing up. Soon, inspections can be completed and ceiling pads can be dropped. Over the next couple of weeks contractors should be moving out of the building so cleaners can come in to prepare for occupancy. See pictures below to follow progress.

Crews have been onsite installing underground storm piping and structures. Masons have been working on setting main corridor walls to complete building tie in. Framers have been working to complete all exterior framing to prep for metal panels. See photos below for progress.

Inside the building, plumbers have been finishing with above ceiling work and laying out for bathrooms. Millwork has been set in new classrooms and polished floors will be started in the next few weeks. Masons are working through interior walls as they become available. See below for some snapshots of construction.

A huge thank you to all Elk Rapids Students and Staff, community, and contractors as these projects move forward.
